WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

The end of another year has come. We have been so blessed this year and are so thankful to have all of our families! We had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed a few days together and with friends and the Smith family here. We didn't get a good family picture for Christmas but hopefully we'll get a nice one this coming spring. We hope you all had a great Christmas too and hope you all have many blessings in the New Year!

Enoch's First Knock Knock Joke!

We had to share with you Enoch's first knock knock joke! He is doing very well at copying things and is already saying short sentences. We're happy to see that he already has a sense of humor too! We were eating dinner when he started to tell his Dad a joke. Before I could get the camera out the punch line was "I see you!" but it is very cute nonetheless!

The boys got some fun toys! Their Grandpa Smith and their uncles gave them a race track! The best part is it doesn't need batteries, you just wind it to make it go!

One of Ephraim's favorites is his remote controlled dump truck and Enoch loves his spinning car track! Elijah got a nice magic set, silly mom didn't get a picture of him with it but I'm sure he'll be doing some tricks for her again soon!

Ephraim outgrew his tricycle so he got a big boy bike to ride around, Enoch has inherited the tricycle. Ephraim is excited that he can keep up with his big brother now! One of the good parts about it not snowing yet is that we can all go out and ride for a few minutes!

The boys on Christmas Day after church. We had a wonderful musical program that we participated in that day, we combined with the other ward in the building so the choir sounded fantastic! The boys were very excited to get home and play though. As you can see, the last thing Ephraim wanted to do was pose for Mom.

I went to Elijah's parent day at school before Christmas break and the parents helped the kids make houses out of graham crackers, frosting and candy. If you look closely you will see Santa Bear (we used gummy bears) being pulled by his 9 reinbears.

It's toe sock time! Christmas marks the beginning of toe sock season. I tried to share with the boys but they're a little big still. I think Ephraim almost looks like he has hobbit feet. :)

WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

FALL HAPPENINGS!

We are making the most of the nice weather because the snow is just around the corner! We had lots of fun this fall, more wood workshops...fun activities with family, and Halloween!! The boys got way too much candy (really, it was making me nauseous just looking at all that, people were very generous this year) so we decided to send some via a sister in our ward to some soldiers who are abroad. It felt good to teach the boys a little about appreciating our military and we made a candy letter which I haven't done in a long time so that was fun! We got a lot of compliments on our Halloween costumes and I have to thank my new mother in law for letting me borrow her nice sturdy old sewing machine to do it because my cheap one sadly is not working anymore. We hope everyone had a great Halloween just like us!

We did some rearranging this fall. The baby was old enough to be out of the crib and Elijah had outgrown the toddler size bunk bed so we got him a twin bed and he has his own room, for now. :) He's very happy about it!

Now Ephraim has the top of the bunk bed and Enoch has the bottom!

Elijah has done so well this year! His teacher loves him and he has mastery marks in every subject so far. He and two other classmates are being sent out of the 1st grade class a few times a week to work with some 2nd grade teachers on some more difficult work. So proud of our Elijah!

We went to a few more wood workshops this fall, this one had a firetruck there with some nice firefighters who let the boys take pictures in the truck!

Josh sang for the opening of our local baseball team, the Ogden Raptors, on Labor Day evening. It was raining pretty hard and this caused his wireless microphone to malfunction, but people were so nice and were singing back to him. It was really touching to hear all those people singing and he did such a good job despite the problems.

Josh and I took up a new hobby this summer. I was proud of myself for doing well, being a beginner and all, Josh threw his target away before I could snap a picture but he did better than me!

WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

Well, we have had quite an eventful summer so far. Weddings, birthdays, reunions and crafts galore! Elijah graduated from Kindergarten and will be starting first grade this fall, Ephraim will be going into primary at the beginning of next year, and Enoch turned 1 and started walking this summer! It was so much fun to spend a week with my family in Zion, take a short girls' trip, and spend some time with my boys doing fun activities. We hope you all enjoy our pictures!

Toward the beginning of summer Ephraim somehow managed to cut his face open while playing outside and needed 3 stitches...luckily he slept through getting the stitches put in which was wonderful for dad who took him to get them.

Mom and the boys made Dad the ugliest tie ever for Father's Day, but I think he liked it. :)

WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

We've moved! As you could probably guess, we outgrew our little 2 bedroom place and as we were looking around for something bigger we had a few separate offers out of the blue to rent within our ward boundaries, so I guess this is where the Lord wants us! We have been so blessed already this year and we're so happy to have a new place to live and grow with the prospect of buying in the near future. WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

Well, it's been a fun few months adjusting to being outnumbered by children...I'm still trying to get the hang of it. Elijah started kindergarten this year, he was very excited! He's been asking for over a year if he could go to school and he loves it...hopefully it stays that way for a while. His teacher was very impressed that he could read already so she has him help the other kids at school. He's really excited about learning new things and likes to read signs whenever he can. Ephraim has also enjoyed Elijah being in school, haha. There's no fighting for a few hours of the day...that is until Enoch gets old enough to fight with, so I'm enjoying it while I can. Enoch is getting big fast, and is finally starting to sleep better at night! He's been smiling and cooing a lot more, I love when they start to do that. :) We had a fun Halloween, Elijah really enjoyed it this year. Last year he wouldn't wear his Spiderman mask but this time he put it right on and ran around the house shooting invisible webs. Ephraim wasn't as enthusiastic but he did like his costume, although you can't tell from the pictures, little stinker. Since Josh was at work I handled the kids (haha) by myself at the ward party and we had a picture taken together at a little photo booth they had set up, so hopefully I'll get that soon. The chef and lobster combo was a hit this year, we got 5th place at our ward party. :) I was a bit sad that I didn't have a pot big enough to put him in, it would have made it much funnier. Thanks Mama for sending the chef's hat up to me!

WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

We are so happy to have a new baby boy! Everything went really well and mom is feeling pretty good already. We had a little problem with him being jaundice as we have with the other two boys, but this was the first time we had to use treatment for it. A biliblanket was delivered to us and we used it for about 24 hours on him. I went to the hospital and had him re-tested two days in a row and they reported that his bilirubin levels are in a safe range so hopefully they will still be there for his two week check up. Thank you to everyone who said prayers for him, I'm very thankful to have family and friends that love and care for us. I still have to take him to a urologist on Thursday to see if it is safe to perform his circumcision, but I'm certain everything will be okay. He is a sweet, healthy, very hungry baby...just the way it should be. Our love to everyone, hope all is well with you! Enjoy our most recent family pictures! :)

We welcomed our third son Enoch into the world on August 2nd. He was born at 10:11 am weighing 6 lb. 13 oz. and was 19 inches long. We were shocked at how tiny he was considering our other two boys had been over 8 pounds. It was okay with his mommy though, she will have a much faster recovery this time around. :) We are so happy and feel so blessed to have three beautiful healthy boys in our family.

We went to the Pioneer Day parade and the boys had fun watching cowboys shoot at each other (the baby didn't like that part all that much, he was jumping around inside of me). There was a motorcycle cop that stopped and gave the kids some little deputy police officer stickers and there was also a big group of missionaries in the parade. I think they got the biggest cheer aside from the group of soldiers that were also in the parade.

He got some stuff for school and had fun buying a bunch of little dollar toys for himself with the $10 Grandpa and Grandma gave him. WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

Well, we are near the end of the pregnancy already...time has flown by!! I hit my 36 week mark yesterday and the countdown has begun. Josh is betting on the 26th, and it so happens there is a full moon that night so he could be right! We will see if we get to post Elijah's birthday first or if there will be some baby pictures first. I think Elijah understands a little of what is going on, we'll see what Ephraim thinks when Mommy's belly is gone all of a sudden and there's a baby! We have had a fun summer so far, I posted a few activities we have done since early June. Hopefully we will get to do a few more things before fall comes and school starts. Elijah will be starting kindergarten this year and he is really excited about it! Hope you all enjoy the pictures and hopefully we will see the new baby boy soon! :)

We're almost to the end! Here is my belly at 36 weeks...and I finally got a rocker/recliner! We found one in good shape at the D.I. and I cleaned it up and love it, I can't wait to rock the baby in a comfortable chair!

We went to the Roy Aquatic Center for a few hours over the weekend. They have a lot of fun slides and water toys. There's a special section for the really young kids that only goes up to 2 feet or so, and there's an area for some bigger kids and some big slides for the adults.

I HAD to post this one...our ward rented some sumo suits for the adults at our ward party and everyone wanted Josh to wrestle with our Bishop (Yikes!). He had fun, and now has experienced some of the pains of pregnancy. :) Hopefully they do this again next year so I can challenge him and have some "marital counseling", haha!

I thought my family might enjoy this...I went to our cousin Karen Zerkle (Peterson)'s baby shower a few weeks ago, she lives down close to Provo. She is also having her 3rd boy and is due a couple of weeks before me. It was fun to see her and visit with her for a few hours.

A friend and I were in charge of a relief society birthday program. We played the game show "Deal or No Deal: Service Edition" and had a couple of the men play "Howie Serve" and the Banker for us. The theme was service, if you can't tell, so instead of having dollar amounts in the cases, we had service items such as "2 free hours of babysitting". The women had a blast so we're happy it turned out so well. We thought it might be fun to come up with some commercial breaks so I brainstormed (and with help from family too I might add) came up with some scripts and had some volunteers from the ward be our actors and actresses. They turned out quite funny. Here is one we came up with. This one is my favorite of the 3 we made, my friend Krista is the wife, and she is due with her baby about 6 weeks before me. They did a great job of acting, very cheesy. You can hear my voice briefly in this one, I'm the teacher asking the question. :)

WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

Well, here he is! Another boy! Guess I'm going to copy my sister Merri, haha. He looks healthy and is very strong...already kicking mom in the stomach and giving her heartburn earlier than normal. I guess that means he might have more hair than the other two boys, we'll see. I was teasing Josh that if he pops out with lots of red hair then we'll have to name him Esau since he likes the bible "E" names...but that would also leave me with some explaining to do seeing as neither of us has red hair, haha. So, I am at 5 months right now and am due August 3rd but am expecting that he will probably come toward the end of July. I asked Elijah if he wanted a baby for his birthday a few weeks ago and he gave me a funny look. I had fun showing the ultrasound to him, he is getting old enough that he is beginning to understand a little better, but all Ephraim said was, "Eww! Gross!" when he saw it. :) So I will try to keep up with the belly shots along the way, nothing too exciting. Love you all!

Here is a clip of my ultrasound, I took the best sections from it as it is close to 10 minutes long. I always find it amazing when I see that little thing kicking around in there. About halfway through the video she was trying to get a good shot of his feet, but he was so irritated that he was kicking pretty violently, I could feel it. So if you watch closely you can see his feet briefly, that's one of my favorite parts. Also, right at the end you can see him moving his lips and sucking a little, very cute.

WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

For those of you that don't know, baby number 3 is on the way. I tried to tell everyone in the Christmas letter I emailed, but it was too hard to read I guess, sorry about that. So I am about 10 weeks along right now and my due date is August 3rd. Here are some pictures from my first ultrasound. I was teasing and told my doctor, "If it's another boy, just tell me now!" So she went and tried to look for me. The first shot is of the baby from below. There is something between the legs but she couldn't tell if it is the umbilical cord or not since it's still so early. Her words were, "I don't know Pam, that looks suspicious to me." So we'll see if she's right or not in a couple of months. In the meantime, I'm in the morning sickness phase so I'm looking forward to when that ends. Hope everyone enjoys the pictures!

WHAT'S NEW WITH US...

Here it is! My twice a year post! I tried to review most of the summer and what we have been up to. I think I mixed a few things up but hopefully you can get the jist of it. We had a lot of fun, we had Elijah's birthday and were able to do a lot of things with friends and family this summer too. I think the boys had a lot of fun. We are enjoying fall approaching now, it's been nice to go outside in the evenings and play in the big backyard with our new puppy.
